Trail running is a simple sport - that is part of the appeal, but here are some of the common questions we are asked
What are the advantages of a guided run?
You get to run the best trails, without the stress of finding the starting points, getting lost, or missing out on interesting things you might see on the way.
You will also have the opportunity to learn some useful techniques & skills including
- Navigational skills
- Map reading
- Injury prevention
- Equipment advice
- Training techniques
- Route planning
What is included?
All runs are fully guided, we also include transport during your stay to and from your accommodation.
Depending on your accommodation choice food may be included:
- Arnside Ensuite Apartment - all food and meals included. Great home cooked nutritious food
- Bed & Breakfast, your breakfast is included
- Other accommodation options do not include food.
Also not included are train fares or entrance fees to any tourist attractions.
How far are the runs?
Most days are 10 to 15 miles. That may sound a lot but we have plenty of rests, and the pace is gentle.
How fit do I have to be?
In order to make the most of the week you need to be a regular runner and injury free, thats all. More important is your enthusiasm!
How big are the groups?
We only run holidays with small groups - usually 4 or less, but we can offer up to 7 places
How can I run everyday for a week?
We don't force you to run every day, but people are often surprised by what they can achieve. Remember you won't have the stresses of work or everyday life to cope with!
How fast do I have to run?
As the terrain is varied our pace generals averages out at 3 to 5 miles an hour, but you don;t need to wory about pace. If you are benerally fit and injury free you will be fine.
What equipment do I need?
Please check our kit list - you don't need a lot, but there are a few important items that can make all the difference
What happens in bad weather?
We will vary the itinerary according the the weather conditions so you get the very best from your trail running holiday
What do I do after the runs and in the evenings?
You will have time after the runs to visit local attractions (and cafes!). In the evenings we offer films about running or mountain adventures.
